We are challenging Californians to help us reach $1,000,000 in contributions in 2009. If every California taxpayer gave even one dollar, we would exceed this goal.

Make This Tax Season Count!
Nearly 20,000 Californians will be diagnosed with breast cancer this year. The California Breast Cancer Research Program is fighting to end the disease through innovative science and community participation. Our researchers are developing new tools for detecting breast cancer, investigation traditional and non-traditional treatment methods, and improving services for patients and their families.
You can help
You can help us conquer breast cancer in your community with a contribution to the Breast Cancer Research Fund on your Income Tax Form 540. Your Tax Check-off contribution is automatically tax deductible for the following year, and the money from this goes directly to the California Breast Cancer Research Program to support new approaches to diagnose, treat, and prevent breast cancer. Previous contributions to the Tax Check-off have supported all or part of 45 grants, including:
- Some early genetic changes that can be used to eliminate cancer cells before they become tumors
- Extracts from white button mushrooms decrease estrogen production, which can block tumor growth
- Improvements in support networks and efforts to empower breast cancer patients within the healthcare system
Join us in our fight!
Help us identify the true causes of breast cancer so that we may ultimately prevent it.
